GRADUATION
REQUIREMENTS

A total of 28 units earned in grades nine through twelve shall be required for high school graduation.  Only one of these units may be in Physical Education.
 Basic Graduation Requirements:
4 Bible credits (or ½ credit for each semester enrolled at RCS)
4 English credits
4 Mathematics credits (must include algebra I, geometry, and algebra II)
3 Science credits (physical science, biology, one additional physical science i.e. chemistry)
3 Social Studies credits (½ credit Economics, ½ credit Government, World History, American History)
½ Fine Arts credit (ex. art, choir, or theatre)
½ Health credit
½ Speech credit
½ Financial Literacy credit
½ P.E. credit (no activity or assignment will substitute for this requirement)
7.5 Elective credits (in addition to the required classes listed above)
(One semester of a digital learning class is required for graduation.)
Athletic period is a non-credit elective.
 
Honor Graduate Requirements:
4 Bible credits (or ½ credit for each semester enrolled at RCS)
4 English credits
4 Mathematics credits (Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry + PreCalculus, and/or Advanced Math, incl. College Algebra, AP Calculus)
3 Science credits (Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry)
3 Social Studies credits (½ credit Economics, ½ credit Government, World History, American History)
½ Fine Arts credit (ex. art, choir, or theatre)
½ Health credit
½ Speech credit
½ Financial Literacy credit
½ P.E. credit (no activity or assignment will substitute for this requirement)
7.5 Elective credits (in addition to the required classes listed above)
2 credits of the same foreign language (counted as elective credits)
4 semester courses from list below.

Athletic period is a non-credit elective.

HONOR GRADUATES 
Any student who has successfully completed the minimum core high school courses with a 3.50 GPA through the first seven semesters (not to be rounded off) shall be eligible for distinction as an honor graduate from RCS as long as the classes completed include a minimum of two credits of the same foreign language and a minimum of 4 semester courses in any combination of courses from the following list:
  • Advanced Placement (AP) courses for which the student completed the course and applicable AP exam to earn weighted credit
  • Concurrent college courses completed on the RCS campus through ASU-Jonesboro or approved concurrent college courses transferred from a previous high school
To be an Honor Graduate, a student must fulfill all of the Honor Graduate Requirements as outlined under the Graduation Requirements policy.  Honor Graduates with be classified as follows (GPAs will not be rounded off):
                Cum laude – with academic distinction GPA 3.5 – 3.74
                Magna cum laude – with great academic distinction GPA 3.75 – 3.99
                Summa cum laude – with highest academic distinction GPA 4.0 or above
